A garden for all seasons...........

Beautanicals Vegetable and Herb Gardens

Our gardens are built on just over an acre of ground. The soil is sandy loam and we have been heavily composing over the last seven years improving it to accommodate the vast range of plants that we have collected.
For a complete list of the plants that we have grown in the garden, see the collection page on our website: HERE.

There were many established trees on the property but we have added many more since we moved here, especially fruit and food trees. The fruit trees that supply us with seasonal fruit are: Macadamias, Mulberry, Mango, Lychee, Fig, Apple, Pear, Apricot, Peanut Butter, Moringa, Sweetleaf, PawPaw's, Coffee, Yerba Mate and Banana. Almost every tree on the property has some medicinal or nutritional value.

We have built the gardens to be as self sustaining as possible and annuals are allowed to self seed to a certain degree, which means that some beds are occupied during all seasons but frequently with alternating species. For example, the Horehound bed (Winter) becomes the Perillia bed (Summer) quite naturally with no planting necessary.

We water the gardens with our well established 'bore' that has never run dry since it was sunk. (circa. 1923)
